Conditional sentence

• PENGERTIAN
  Conditional sentence adalah kalimat dalam bahasa inggris yang digunakan untuk mengungkapkan keinginan, harapan, pengandaian atau rencana yang mungkin bisa atau tidak bisa terwujud.

CONDITIONAL TYPE 0
HOW TO USE ZERO CONDITIONAL
Zero conditional sentences express general truths— When you use a zero conditional, you’re talking about a general truth rather than a specific instance of something.

PENGGUNAAN : Conditional tipe 0 digunakan untuk mengungkapkan kebenaran umum atau suatu fakta.
TENSES : if + simple present , Simple present
Simple present + if + simple present


Example : 1. If you don’t brush your teeth, you get cavities.
2. If it rains, the grass get wet.
3. the grass get wet if it rains

CONDITIONAL SENTENCE TYPE 1
HOW TO USE FIRST CONDITIONAL
First conditional sentences are used to express situations in which the outcome is likely (but not guaranteed) to happen in the future.

PENGGUNAAN: Digunakan untuk menunjukan situasi atau kejadian yang mungkin terjadi ( belum tentu terjamin ) terjadi dimasa yang akan datang.
TENSES : IF + simple present, simple future.
simple future + if simple present

EXAMPLE :
a. seandainya kamu jujur, dia akan memaafkanmu.
1. If you tell her the truth, She will forgive you.

2. She will forgive you if you tell her the truth.

note : kita menggunakan Simple present pada IF-CLAUSE / sub clause conditional type 1 dan simple future pada Main clause- nya.

Incorrect : if you will rest, you will feel better.

Correct : if you rest, you will feel better.

CONDITIONAL SENTENCE TYPE 2
HOW TO USE SECOND CONDITIONAL
second conditional sentences are useful for expressing outcome that are completely unrealistic ir will not likely happen in the future.

PENGGUNAAN : tipe ini digunakan untuk mengungkapkan sesuatu yang sangat kecil kemungkinannya untuk terjadi atau hampir tidak mungkin terjadi.

TENSES : IF Simple past , simple past future
Simple past future IF simple past
Example
If i got a billion dollar, i would travel the moon.
if i owned a zoo, i would let people interact with the animal more.

CONDITIONAL TYPE 3
HOW TO USE THIRD CONDITIONAL

PENGGUNAAN : Digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu pengandaian yang berlawanan dengan apa yang sudah terlanjur terjadi.

TENSES : IF past perfect , future perfect
future perfect IF past perfect
Example
if you had told me needed a ride, i would have left earlier.
if had studied harder, i would have gotten a better job.
